Home Visit

Takes place after Ending 3. Allen pays Rody a visit.

Hm.. so this is where he moved to. Well, its a slight upgrade from his old apartment, thats for sure. (click) …Ah. i didn't even need to use the key? He just left the door unlocked? Allen steps into the room. beer cans lie on the floor, old shirts and clothes strewn about. Cardboard boxes with its contents peeking out were clustered together in one corner. (setting a bag down on a table) looks like someone didn't finish unpacking. ...zzz
Rody is passed out on the couch.
(He’s asleep. How cute.) Allen kneels down to get closer. It isn't long before Rody senses his presence and wakes up with a scream A-ALLEN? WHAT THE- HOW DID YOU GET INTO MY APARTMENT- You left the door unlocked. you ought to be more careful. Well, even if it wasn't unlocked, i would have been able to get in anyways, WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT? (holds up a key attached to his keychain) During one of your drunken stupors last week, you dragged me with you to get key copies made for your new apartment. You gave me one of the copies. I.. I did? You did. Why didn't you say anything sooner? Were you planning to scare me like you did just now? (picking up a beer can) Wow, you’ve only been here for a week or two and you’ve already littered the place with beer cans and trash. Hey! Don't just ignore my question! Allen doesn't reply to him, instead he takes a garbage bag out of his coat pocket and opens it. Really, you just got here. you ought to take better care of the place. I- Embarassed, maybe even ashamed, Rody tries to get up from the couch, but he quickly loses balance. He seems a bit disoriented. Allen watches him stumble, making no move to help him stay on his feet. You can sit back down on the couch. I can tell youre still a bit hungover from drinking last night Oblivious to how he must look, Rody looks even more ashamed. He sits back down on the couch. How did you know I was drinking last night? …because this spill on the carpet is recent, this can here is still a little cold… As Allen speaks, he walks closer to Rody. Closer, until he's right in front of him. He reaches out to touch Rody. …you have increased blood pressure, prone to irritability, sweating, dry mouth, oh and- DON'T JUST SUDDENLY PUT YOUR FINGERS IN MY MOUTH YOU WEIRDO! YOU FREAK! (wipes his hand on rodys shirt) i was just verifying some symptoms of a hangover, DON'T SMILE WHEN YOU SAY THAT!!! Stepping back, Allen moves the bag he set down earlier closer to Rody before picking up the trash bag with the beer cans in it. Go ahead and open that bag. It’s almost 2:00 PM and i doubt you had anything to eat yet. ... ...! Is this from that burger joint nearby? ...Mhm. Wow! Thanks! Rody eagerly digs into the meal. The burger looks delicious, and judging from Rody's reaction, tastes delicious as well. As he eats, Allen finishes picking up the beer cans. Setting the garbage bag down, he picks up one of the shirts on the floor. Do you not own a laundry hamper? mm, (chewing) it should be over there- You should really finish unpacking, I know, I'm getting around to it okay? (chewing) Wow, this burger is really good, have you tried it? No. I don't- C'mon, try it. C'mere, c'mere! Rody gets up and walks over to Allen. He's still a bit wobbly on his feet, but he's able to stand by Allen. I- Just a bite! ... Allen sighs, before taking a small bite. He chews for a bit while Rody excitedly waits for his reaction. Well? How is it? ... Uh, Allen? Tastes fine... Are you sure? Mhm.. (it's not a lie.. it tastes okay. but jesus, the texture was awful. im gonna be sick.) 'I miss Vincent's cooking' Allen catches himself thinking of the chef, before shaking his head. After taking a moment to compose himself, Allen continues to clean up Rody's apartment while Rody ate his food. Haah.. there. All clean. You really didn't have to do all this, Allen.. You're right. I didn't. Hey, why did you come around anyway? I didn't call you while I was drunk, did I? You didn't. Then why- I'll be going now. Bye. Hey, wait! Rody grabs Allen's wrist before he can leave. As evasive as Allen is, he's no match for Rody's brute strength once he's in his grasp. ... I- I just wanted to say thanks. For checking in on me. It.. means a lot. (jesus this sounds so gay to say to another guy) ...No problem, Rody. Can you call me when you get home? No. I have work. R-Right.. Well.. Just, whenever you're free? (..He's being clingy.) … How about this: When you clean yourself up, and you really ought to because you smell kinda bad right now- Hey! When you save enough money, I'll go with you to buy a pager so that you can send me messages whenever you want, okay? Really?! Yeah. But go shower or something first, and finish unpacking. Right, right.. See you later allen!! See you. Rody lets Allen go, and the door closes as the detective steps out. ................ Hm. He had a different brand of beer this time, and he shoved some letters under the couch. The kitchen was a mess this time, too. but.. it was a little bit less messy. Has he been trying to improve his cooking? …What a pathetic man. Tiresome, too. I just cant understand him. He's not at all like what I thought he was when I first met him. But.. I think I'll observe him for a little while longer.
